Safe Healthcare Waste Management for Afghanistan’s Immunization Program
The UNICEF-supported initiative in Afghanistan aims to strengthen healthcare waste management systems across key provincial medical and immunization facilities. This project focuses on ensuring that waste generated from immunization activities ― such as used syringes, vaccine vials, safety boxes, and contaminated packaging ― is safely treated, incinerated, and disposed of following international environmental and health standards.
